My first time to the beautiful Daylesford in country Victoria was about five years ago. I went back a few times for day trips, had a lovely weekend learning about food photography and held a retreat for my Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle Centre Healthy Energy. My next trip was with my husband Jared. We woke up early to get to the Sunday market by the station. It was such a gorgeous day and we got to see many stalls showcasing their produce and treasures. We bought some nettle, clover and mint tea, calendula from this lady who only produces a very small batch, some blueberries that were picked that morning, some rhubarb and some unknown plums which originated from Greece. The whole market has such a great sense of community.

We then stopped by for lunch at Larder Daylesford, headed to Lavandula, Swiss Italian Farm for lavender lemonade, scones and ice cream!! The cobblestone house in Lavandula reminds me of Provence. In 2014 Jared and I went around France and my favourite place was the Provence region. I remember staying at a cobblestone guesthouse in Quinson thinking to myself, if I can retire there that would be nice!

Okay, smoothie time! Here’s a little lavender smoothie recipe I whipped up this morning, enjoy!

  • 1 cup Bonsoy
  • 8 frozen strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup milk kefir. I used Blue Bay, purchased from my local farmers market.
  • 1 tsp lavender flowers

Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend for 30 seconds. Enjoy while it’s cold!
